Winter on Life Support

The MJO determines the weather we receive throughout the winter.

Warm Phases in late winter are- 3,5,6,7

Cold Phases in late winter are- 8,2,1,4

Referring to the image above the GEFS has us in phase 5 and has us heading in the direction of phase 6. Phase 6 is a very hostile phase for cold weather. Therefore, we can expect the next two weeks to be mild and generally snow-less.
